a year or so ago I drove to D.C. but before getting there I stopped and dismantled my 9mm automatic, separated the slide, the magazine the springs etc. then put this into a locked box and put it under my spare tire in the trunk. you might look at the holsters by Ken Null klnullholsters.com from what I have heard he makes some great holsters.

I carry a Diamondback DB9 in 9mm w/ an extra magazine in a RKBA kydex holster and this fits nicely in dress pants. The DB9 is not recommended for those without a lot of pistol usage.
