Came in the mail on 06/24 while I was on vacation. It was postage stamped two daŷs after it showed mailed on DPS website.

My wife mailed hers off a full two weeks before me and still hasn't received hers. She is stuck in BG check. She has a crystal clean record.

Wife got her plastic in the mail yesterday!!! She mailed it 2 weeks before me and got it about 2 weeks after i received mine. About 60 days mail box to mail box.

Just checked and was in MAILED STATUS. That was about 1:30pm. I almost didn't check because I checked this morning about 9:00am and it was still in manufacture pending. Reason being I had read multiple posts that DPS only updates 1x per day at 6am and therefore it is not necessary to check multiple times per day. This is bad info and feel free to check away!!!!

My wife mailed hers about 2 weeks before me. She updated to background check review on 06/04/13. I updated to background check review on 06/11/13. As of today I am in background check review completed/manufacture pending and she is still stuck in background check review....

Wife has been in background check status for 10 days now. Would be curious to see their operation or talk to somone about the reason for the discrepancies.

My wife has been in pending background check status since 06/04/13 and she has never even had a speeding ticket so there should be no hiccups. Somewhere I read they have to send off request and info to FBI to do the check. So the fact that yours went from pending background check to backround check completed in 24 hours is pretty amazing.

I mailed mine 05/23/13 (non certified) and checked this AM and still in the waiting for materials stage. I check every morning but really going in did not expect to see a status change for atleast 30 days.

Looks like 25 to 30 days from mail date to background check status. That's actually faster than I thought it would be.

Still kinda expecting another email saying they need a photo tho. I said to use my DL photo and they showed as accepted, but another location(page) on website stated that they did NOT accept photos with eye glasses, which my DL has.

My DL picture has glasses too. When we filled out that form in our class I assume our instructor would have alerted us to that. Now when I had my fingerprints done the lady took a picture of me with my glasses off. I wondered why she took my picture since I was there for fingerprints but didn't ask.

Ok, well i broke down and checked this morning just to see if my application had got magically fast tracked...It has't still has the "waiting on material...more detailed" status. It has only been a week and a day so maybe I will check every Friday morning. I actually got my CHL in 2005 but when it was time to renew I had small kids at home, work, lots going on, ect....and I let it expire. I probably could have found the time and now regret not finding half a day on a Saturday in the renewal period.

So how long is everyone waiting before checking the DPS site for a status change? I figured I would wait atleast 4 weeks before checking...
