Mar 30 - All required docs mailed.
Apr 02 - Required docs delivered per USPS.
May 08 - Status updated to received, BG pending.
May 29 - Fingerprints & BG completed, updated to Manufacturing Pending.
May 30 - Updated to mailed.
Jun 03 - Plastic received.

So... 62 days total. Not bad really.

From what I've seen in this forum there are a variety of factors involved - if you've moved a few times, maybe switched jobs, etc so it's not necessarily a clean record = quick background check sort of thing. And you gotta figure that, like any other job, some processors are just going to be better and more efficient at their job than others so there definitely is a 'luck of the draw' factor to be considered.

They do seem to be getting through the early April deliveries in the last few days so hopefully yours will update soon.

So I received a reply today to the email request I sent via the website on April 9th (not realizing at the time that it takes 35+ days from delivery for status to update). It didn't say anything, form email that basically listed wait times for several scenarios then said that if you are over those times, continue waiting.

I think this whole process is a training and testing tool - if you are going to be armed while out and about it is better to be a generally patient person. Good thinking DPS.

Mine arrived just a couple days before yours and updated last week so hopefully yours will soon. Now waiting to see how long background takes... and my fingerprints are 'under review' so I hope that company we're required to use didn't mess something up!

I work pretty close to you (other side of IAH), be careful there. Many incidents at "Gunspoint" in the 12 years I've worked in the area... But if you like sushi, Ichiban is the best in the area, worth the risk.
