Re: 3006 Sign Question
Good advice from rtschl. I would carefully consider the possible ramifications of your Employers enforcement wishes. I might consider, personally, informing someone who may have missed the sign that handguns are not allowed on the premises as a reasonable first step, progressing to calling the polic...

Re: 22 caliber qualification
You’re looking for Senate Bill 263 https://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/85R/billtext/html/SB00263F.htm passed as part of the 85th legislative session. The law became effective 9/1/2017. You can get to it on the DPS website under Archived Legislation https://www.dps.texas.gov/RSD/LTC/Legal/Archive...

Re: Used wrong number on LTC-8
Send in a correct LTC-8, so your friend can get his certificate.
You should ALSO contact DPS so they know that the number on the previous LTC-8 is incorrect.
Mistakes happen, not a big deal, but getting the correct LTC-8 in the system will help your friend.

Re: Length of time for the chambered round
If I'm re-chambering the same round that I pulled before I usually lock the slide back, drop the round in the pipe then release the slide. Just have to remember to pull it back slightly to make sure the extractor caught correctly. Then there should be no set back even if it were going to happen, no...

At the risk of causing heartburn for any particular fanbase... ;-) Any of those will work fine, really. Price/Availability would be my guide here. Also, I've exactly one Nickle Boron (NiB) BCG, and it performs just as well as my others. Take that as you will. Good luck on your build! Edited to add: ...

Re: How to Handle Student's Failed Proficient Test
That's how I have handled it. I also include (in my filed documents) a text file documenting the student and the need for further instruction. So then, if/when you're audited, you can pull up the notes and show the auditor why one of your students didn't pass the shooting portion. Question: I had a ...

Re: I received deferred adjudication Probation in 90's
You may be in luck. Texas PC defines Forgery under Title 7, Section 32. GC §411.1711. CERTAIN EXEMPTIONS FROM CONVICTIONS. A person is not convicted, as that term is defined by Section 411.171, if an order of deferred adjudication was entered against the person on a date not less than 10 years prece...

Re: To Campus Carry or Not To Carry - Thoughts?
Lucas, This is the from the "Effective August 1st" part of 46.035 "Unlawful Carry License Holder": (a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a partially or wholly visible handgun, regardless of whether the handgun is h...

Re: To Campus Carry or Not To Carry - Thoughts?
Tex, That is a very well-reasoned line of thought, and it makes perfect sense. In order to charge a LTC holder with Trespass (30.06) or Unlawful Carry by License Holder (46.035), they must post a 30.06 sign. Still, a private school can make rules and regulations regarding concealed carry that do not...

Re: To Campus Carry or Not To Carry - Thoughts?
The school president may, after conferring with students and faculty over the unique situations of that school, may certainly opt out AS LONG AS THE RULES ARE REASONABLE AND NOT A GENERAL PROHIBITION. But to implement that policy the school has not choice but to notify as per 30.06. A written polic...

Re: DAO in Revolver?
There is no requirement that shooters with a revolver fire DAO.
As long as they can fire safely, and get off the required shots in time, they can shoot however they would like.
