Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they really don't know what causes them. I've had 4 in my life time. I quit drinking sodas after the first at doc's suggestion. Haven't had a soda in some 15 years now. But still had 3 more stones. Changed diet, eating habits everything the doc said to do but still had them.
