Re: Taking on the Cedar Park Center - Heb Center
Well, the City of Cedar Park responded (the city attorney specifically) to my inquiry within about an hour on a Sunday evening. I'll call that good service even if I didn't like the contents of the answer. He pointed to the OAG opinion here: https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/opinions/opinions/51p...

Re: Taking on the Cedar Park Center - Heb Center
Well, I managed to go to the HEB Center this morning and saw the information listed above - so I had to renew my participation with this forum after it was apparently the best source of news (again) on topics like this. So - after apparently about a 7 year absence, I'm back! If I have absorbed the i...

Re: Migrating Eudora email to Outlook
I would start by looking into the ways that Eudora can export. That is probably more important than the Outlook Import.

Re: When to start renewal paperwork?
You can start 6 months prior to expiration. I suggest that you do so. Start your renewal in June or July of next year and you should be good.

Re: Solution for slow internet or interrupted internet service
In some cases (many) you can set your router to be a DNS server as well. Talk about local cache - and it really just saves the stuff you do the most. Then if you don't have the data, it will go search the other DNS server (from your provider or open server). Works great for me.

Re: applying on line- does it speed things up any?
It has other benefits (like being able to read what I type instead of what I try to write), but speed isn't one of them.

Mine went active today... right at 90 days after submitting a renewal. Both of mine have taken twice the allowed time.
Awaiting the mailman now.

Re: March 2009 Applications
I just got an email response... mine is awaiting printing. Which means that it will probably not happen until after my birthday on Sunday. I am going to lapse, but at least I get an "extra" year.

Re: Hearing protection recommendation?
I got some custom ones made at the local range. They stick, for lack of a better term, a tiny tampon in your ear canal, then fill the rest of the outer ear with this epoxy putty. Ten minutes later, you have custom molded earplugs that work GREAT! They were kinda pricey for plugs, at about 30-40 buc...

Re: Hearing protection recommendation?
I REALLY like the plugs that are custom injected to fit your ear canal. Most audiologists can do this and I got my at the TPWD expo one year. Then just about any muffs over top are plenty.

Re: March 2009 Applications
My birthday is this weekend - and so is my expiration date. DPS says that it is waiting on the printer... maybe I can get it printed on Monday and get me some extra time. Of course I would rather not have a lapse of coverage...

Re: Heller not incorporated against states
I haven't read the ruling yet, but I think it is correct - it hasn't been incorporated yet. This is exactly the type of case that was needed to be brought to SCOTUS in order for it to become incorporated though. This is the exact ruling that we wanted, I think. Yes?
