I work in the poker room, and have talked to a few of the security guards as well as some light horse officers, and according to them, you can't even have a gun in the parking lot. Example, a player was using a .40 as a card cap (to protect his cards). I had to inform security who at that point called their supervisor. They asked if he had a gun on him and he answered that he had left it in his car. They informed him that was still against the law and that as soon as he didn't have the weapon, he was welcome to come back and play.

So the lesson is don't bring your gun to the casinos. When you do, don't mention that it's in your car.
