Technicially its not in public, its a private business.
So if it is a private business it is not open to the public or vice versa.

English is strange.

Private is open to the public and public is private.

My house is private but is not open to the public, unless it is by your definition of private, in which case it is public??

What I have on my person is my business and no one else's. What I carry is no one's business. Mine alone. All other's rights end where my person exists. If the doors are open to everyone (PUBLIC) then the owner cannot tell me what not to carry on MY PERSON.

They can however tell you to get out and never ever come back.
How do they know if it is concealed?

Anygunanywhere
Generally true. If they don't know its not an issue to then.
Unless they give effective written notice of course.

Now, on the note of the thread, my wife and daughter own a business and run it together. They have a sign in the front window that says CHL's welcome here. I had an interesting conversation with both of them after seeing the Starbucks thread and asked what they would do. Their answer was if someone walked into their shop with a weapon displayed, they would probably be looking down the barrel of at least one if not two XD's. Interesting point. How would they know that this person was not there to rob them? Yes he can legally carry a rifle openly, BUT, that doesn't eliminate the fact that the girls would, in their minds, be protecting themselves.

These people that are doing this before something like this happens and someone gets hurt or gets dead.

Also a good point.

WB boils it down to the single clear issue. :thumbs2:
