Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry

Being in the business, I certainly do blame him for not supporting campus carry. I also see no logic or data against this proposition. If you can protect yourself at the mall, on the street or in your place of worship - why cannot students, faculty and staff?

If you think these folks cannot have this option - an ethical person would not support carry in other places or carry themselves.

Perry had political reasons and bowed to pressure not to act, despite the above mentioned quote.

Not a principled position on his part.

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry

I don't regard campus carry as a pet issue. If one looks at consequences - the few people who might get in legal trouble for an unintentional exposure are not as important as preventing 30 young people from being killed.

There was no reason for Perry not to actively (using his powers) to let the representatives of the people to vote on this. I would rather have that than cheaper renewals or shorter classes.

Let's hear him explain it. Then he could tell us what a great champion of the RKBA he truly is.

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry

Here's a poll on campus carry.

I agree with the sentiment that this is a test for Perry on the issue.

Re: Letter to Governor Rick Perry

I did it and also posted Chas. letter and links on a forum I moderate. Hope it moves Perry to act.
