Re: New Braunfels Wurstfest: GUN SIGN=BLUE
Went tonight and had a great time! Both my wife and I carried, and noticed no signs (not even 51%). We entered at gate 3 and there were no searches. Additionally, I would add that the grounds were well policed- so although we were equipped we had no feeling that it was necessary. For those going, I'...

Re: Managing your gear in bathrooms - a practical question
Thank you! I've been looking all over the TLO site and am not seeing this bill in bill search or text, or in the list of bills introduced in session 83. Perhaps its just a website error, I'll keep looking. The site isn't exactly 'modern' by web standards but its at least a good try. Just found it vi...

Just curious, and I will look, but do you happen to know the bill or statue now that its passed?
Thanks!

Re: BG Scan?
Just to update this topic for the early 2000's (oh yeah, that happened) ... I've always had a peripheral vision that seems to analyze, process, and identify potential threats. This is my lizard brain processing more relevant and recent input. I see that one guy looking at me for no reason, more than...

Re: Managing your gear in bathrooms - a practical question
Thanks folks- I did find the other email threads - its actually quite a relief to see that a) other people find this challenging also, and 3) I'm not the only one that abhors the public potty I do have a maxpedition bag that I carry in sometimes - maybe transfer to that (discreetly) would be my best...

Wait - is this Dave or the wife?
Either way, my hat's off to your superior colon, but every now and then, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Managing your gear in bathrooms - a practical question
I hope this generates at least a laugh or two... But in any case, I just started carrying last week, and already have run into a problem... How do you manage to keep your pants from dropping when carrying 2lbs of iron strapped to your belt and standing unbuckled - weapons hot, as it were, at a urina...

Yeah I saw that - different county maybe? I live in Travis and have heard from my CHL instructor 90 days is average.
Of course, both the wife and I forgot to put dates on the test and proficiency section - so that probably added a few weeks.

Yep - also encouraged me to buy more cameras!
Today, there was a large brush fire 30 yards from my home due to idiots with firecrackers. I guess I'm gonna need fire suppression now, too!

Re: Reason you decided to get CHL ?
Thanks for the repost- I couldn't get the video to embed dispute checking several web sites and FAQs. Yeah he was quite determined to get in. He wasn't able to get anything, but he did sufficiently damage my tv - so we got a bigger, nicer one. The chill I got was when he got in. My son could have be...

Re: Welcome / Just Saying Hi
Hi y'all! I've been reading this board thru my CHL process - found it so useful that I didn't need to ask any questions, but I do want to be an active member so I made an account. I live in Austin and yes am a liberal (per strict dictionary definition) - so if you think all 'libs' are coming to take...

Re: First time out with CHL
I've recently had my first outings at Cabela's, HEB, target, Walmart etc. I suppose the slight jitters or the "is he looking at me" moments are because I am stunningly handsome :smilelol5: and are probably just my imagination. I do know that I and my family have been targeted in the past b...

Re: Reason you decided to get CHL ?
Hi everyone- I'm new here and thought I'd chime in in the topic. We live in a 'gentrified' neighborhood in Austin and have had several run ins that could have become very violent, as well as a break-in that left us shaken up somewhat. The ability to flee isn't always going to be an option. See the y...

Re: How long did it take to get CHL, mailing packet to plast
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and just received my plastic last week :tiphat: I'd say it took about 64 days end-to-end, and that includes having to resend a document that was missing a date. My wife sent hers in a little later, and is still pending. A note to those who haven't sent in your docum...
