Re: should we report a place to TABC?
I emailed the "administrator" by the email address provided on sherwood forest website. I asked if they were owned by anyone. She said no, and was a partner with a guy named George. And I asked (politely) well, I'll just copy and paste : "I was curious about the 51% sign you guys have...

Re: Show your DIY Ideas and Projects
Not as cool as others DIY, or other DIY I've done. But This is my first lower build, and I don''t have space for a work bench. I've read of many people building a platform for people to stand on while they torque down the barrel nut. So I build one.

Re: should we report a place to TABC?
Thanks again everyone for educating me. It still seems crazy that an open area could have a 51% sign. It almost sounds like a good legal argument of being able to walk around the area while carrying, and not being by the vendors that sell booze. Not that I'm advocating trying it out. I'm not. Who wa...

Re: should we report a place to TABC?
Clearly, I don't understand how the legality of this works. And thanks to everyone for being patient and educating me. Why would the TABC force them to display the signs? As far as red signs of not, I'm going off eyewitnesses saying the signs are not red. I could see the argument for the grounds, if...

Re: should we report a place to TABC?
Is the TABC the issuing authority for the 51% sign? Or should I be notifying anyone else?

Re: should we report a place to TABC?
Well it's the principle that they are trying to disenfranchise and shut out perfectly fine law abiding citizens. That's what bothers me.

Re: should we report a place to TABC?
If you look up the license it says the exp date is 2/18/2014. And it is pending renewal.

should we report a place to TABC?
Sherwood Forrest in McDade has 51% signs by the entrance. 1) They are expired. 2) They are black, not red. 3) Sherwood forest is not a building at all, but open grounds (I've been told that 51% only applies to a (1) building, not an open area). 4) If you look up the license on TABC it doesn't say sh...

Re: You know what I love about carrying in Texas?
guys guys guys... stop. can we just take a sec, and appreciate the fact that we live in a great state where most everyone here doesn't care if you're carrying. Or printing. Or whatever. Even the hipsters in starbucks don't care. Hell, I think I saw one of them at the range last month.

You know what I love about carrying in Texas?
You know what I love about carrying in Texas? No one cares. I know I print when I'm at walmart and I get something off the bottom shelf. Or when I'm at church (I do the media production) and I go on stage to move wires or troubleshoot equipment, I know I have to be printing. And I know most people d...

Re: AR pistol register?
Ya, from a little searching I learned you have to use a buffer tube that can't accept a stock. And you can't have vertical fore grips. I was just curious of registration / stamps / applications.

AR pistol register?
I was considering building an AR pistol in the future. And wanted to know if I would need to register it? I know Texas does not require firearm registration, but maybe ATF?

Re: Houston Museum of Natural Science
As I replied to in texas3006.com, there are no signs anywhere. I used the 3 exits (fountain, shop, and globe). I didn't see any signs. Carry on.
