Re: A somewhat unique situation.
What about lockers are they available.? No lockers are available either at the bus stop or at work, which is why I was thinking about the small safe idea. I appreciate the responses. I will have to think this over as it sounds like I am within my legal rights, but have to weigh the idea of work dis...

Re: A somewhat unique situation.
I am in the Austin area, so the bus line is Cap Metro. I was being intentionally vague, but I guess that's not much help. I also work for the state, which brings up something that kind of torques me off. We won the lawsuit where you can now carry in the capital building (not where I work), but yet a...

A somewhat unique situation.
So I now have to drive into town for work. I have found that taking the bus is the easiest solution, Let me preface this with a couple of notes. First, the bus and my work both seem to prohibit weapons onsite although neither has the proper legal signage at any point of entry. I am a lawful chl hold...

I might as well follow up to my original post. After wearing the AlienGear holster for a couple of months now, there's no problem. I still keep the Uncle Mike's holster on the nightstand as something to slip the weapon into at night, like a sleeping bag. Thanks for all the replies and good advice.

Re: X-ray of guns deglamorizes their appeal?
I'm not a super big fan. However: "The series features other famous cinematic guns including the Magnum 45 , as used by Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry" Last I checked It was a S&W N-Frame in .44 Mag. You sure it wasn't a Magnum PI? That thing could break the skin and cause an infection...

Also I have been paying closer attention to how my gun rides along my spare tire. I am 5 '8 197 pounds stockier guy. I rock a mean 33 inch spare tire though :D. You have one of those baby spares. Try wearing a fullsize spare like I have. Makes the gun disappear, but I can't wait to get rid of it.

Re: 'Scuze me while I whip this out.
Appreciate all of the input. I ordered an Alien Gear holster in black today. Next on the list if that one doesn't work out is the Kholster. Off to shop for belts. I will go searching the plethora of threads for suggestions. Thanks all.

Re: 'Scuze me while I whip this out.
Well I am using an Uncle Mikes nylon ITP holster. I really like it, but when I pull the gun out it has no structure so instant loose pants. I agree that pants are going to be the last thing on the agenda if I have to draw in public, but I also don't want to be on America's Funniest CHL Videos. I gue...

'Scuze me while I whip this out.
So this might sound crazy but I am going to ask anyway. Is anyone else besides me concerned that if they ever have to draw their weapon that your pants might actually get the drop on you? I know when I am unholstering at night my pants are pretty loose, and I have to grab my belt to keep them from h...

Re: Places to carry? Can I?
:iagree: I was on the verge of running late for an appointment to have a skin lesion removed. Typically, I get the gun off before the weigh in but I really didn't expect one that day, given the procedure. When the nurse said "step on the scale", I weighed my options (don't you just love p...

Re: Trip to CA - unarmed.
You might take a leisurely drive down Bouquet Canyon, and then over to Lake Hughes road. Makes a nice circle and I used to love making that loop on my motorcycle. It's probably way more fun when on 2 wheels, but it's something to do.
