I originally bought mine without the combat cut. After rubbing a raw spot on my thumb practicing my draw I called Crossbreed about "adding" the combat cut. I thought about doing it myself but I figured for $7 plus shipping it one way it was worth it to let them do it. I had it back in a week and couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.
Awesome!! I appreciate the information!

I have had both, and prefer the combat cut. I now use a Theis Holster and it comes combat cut and in horsehide standard, for less than the Crossbreed with those options. I like it. I like it a lot.

You can always do your own combat cut, just need a sharp knife and steady hand.
Everyone keeps telling me to do it on my own and I assure you it will be slaughtered if I do hahaha, I practically ruined those Talon Grips when I tried those out a year ago. I really liked that three speed holster someone showed me in a link but I don't know how I feel about velcro.. Theis holster huh? I will have to check that out.. I didn't get my Crossbreed cut when I bought it because I thought it was silly and that I would get annoyed of my firearm poking me all day but I feel now that a little discomfort is worth it if I can get a proper grip from the draw...
A sharp pair of scissors will work too, just mark where you want to cut and cut. I trimmed a little off my Theis Holster that way, just to remove some excess that wasn't needed for the screw holes I use.

It's like kindergarten all over again, extra points for staying on the line.
I was never very good at that! "rlol"

Not a stupid question because I didn't specify! IWB as I will be using my Crossbreed Deluxe holster. :patriot:
Since you have a Crossbreed holster I'm guessing you know they also make decent belts. When I got my Supertuck about 18 months ago I also got one of their belts and it has served me well. I also picked up a Wilderness 5 stitch Instructor belt around the same time but wasn't as happy with it. The belt itself is fine and of high quality, I just didn't like the way the belt threaded back onto itself through the buckle as opposed to the traditional belt. It didn't lend itself well to my particular setup.

I recently got an Ares Ranger belt, and while I'm still getting used to it, I think I'm going to be very happy with it. The main reason I didn't like the Instructor belt is having to unthread the webbing through the buckle every time you need to undo your pants. If you carry a knife or anything else between 12:00 and about 2:00 like I do this can be a nuisance. I tend to wear the same pants or shorts with the same gear more than once, so being able to set up and only have a buckle to deal with instead of threading/unthreading the belt through the buckle every time is a bonus.
Honestly, I haven't even looked at Crossbreed's belts! I will have to check those out, when I bought the holster a while back I didn't realize how important a good gun belt was and I thought it was just a nice way of getting some extra bucks out of people for the company, but after reading so much on this, and many other forums, I realize now how essential it is.

Funny thing, now that I have lost weight, they seem to have regained some of their former fit.
I have the same issue with my regular belts! Haha

Cedar Park Dad wrote:Beltmen, Comp Tac make good belts. Galco also makes belts. I am not familiar with their belts but their holsters are awesome so I am sure their belts are equally so.
Galco belts I am familiar with because I sold them when I worked at Athena. They are nice but I wanted to know what else is out there.
