It does help to have a friend with an FFL, yes you do have to fill out a 4473 to get it back, but it is still your property. You also have the added record keeping to prove the path the gun took so if it does vanish it's not hard for law enforcement to figure out where/when it happened.Vecco wrote:G.A. If you can get a ffl for under 20 thats great... best I can get is 25.. and I an VERY happy to get that rate.. but rember when you give your gun to a FFL its no longer your gun. 99.9% there is no problem.. but its no longer your gun in the eye of ATF.

I didn't say I went to an FFL because I had to, I use one because of the cost of shipping. The cost of shipping is one reason I go to an FFL and have them MAIL a pistol for me if the manufacturer doesn't send a pickup slip. If its a long gun I simply mail it myself.
