It is going to take the state on average between 35 and 45 days to process your application. It may take them a few days less, but not many. You can pound the keyboard accessing the DPS site all you want but it wont speed anything up. Knowing this I just put the application in the mail and forgot about it. When the card finally came in the mail it was sort of like getting surprise present.

Thanks for the nfo but I will still check on my wife's 5 to 6 times a day. Heck I still check mine out of habit and I got it over a year ago. :biggrinjester:

Wow hope they get it fixed. Keep us posted. Wife is at day 20 with just the first update.

Your wife is at day 20 and she's already had an update? I'm at 6 weeks without anything. I did call a week or two ago, they were very friendly and they said they probably have my docs, since the USPS show it was delivered. But I'm getting the impression "efficiency" and "best practices" aren't issues for them. I asked the nice lady what the average turnaround was on applications and you would have thought I asked her about orbital escape velocities. She was absolutely clueless. I explained and it just seemed to confuse her even more. Perhaps performance metrics aren't used in the government sector like they are in the private.

yes it was around three weeks to get her first update that say's background check is under review and it is stuck there. Funny thing her best friend took the class with her sent her papers a week later has had her licensefor over a week. Nothing really to do but wait.

Hope you see a update soon Dadof8

Day 50 here, but I am cool as a cucumber! At least I got one update. I figured 60 days minimum from the start because of all the mess I heard about the process from friends and read on this forum, so I am truly not disappointed. After 60 days I will start calling requesting some kind of accountability though..

My wife's paper work was recived on Sept. 26th first update Oct. 24th and still no change.

Thank you for your information 125Dad! I hope it won't be long for your wife either. I am thankful to hear that you all received an update in the time frame I submitted mine (DPS received all my stuff on 9/20) because it shows that at least some progress is being made. To date, I haven't received an update yet and when I called DPS, they claimed an ignōrantia (until data is entered) excuse and that there is no one to speak with until it is. Since DPS apparently does not practice first come, first served, I am hoping for an update soon as well. In the meantime still patiently waiting, lol! Please do let us know when you guys get another update. Thanks again!
The waiting part Is the worst. When I did this for my CHL It was 127 days from mailbox to mailbox and 45 days to the first update. All I can say is that It Is worth It. Never felt safer.
