Re: Carry for non-CHL holder on personal property

18 U.S.C. 930 Posted at Federal Credit Union
There's a Federal credit union in town that post 18 U.S.C. 930. To me this doesn't seem enforceable due to my understanding that a Federal credit union has a Federal charter but isn't in fact part of the Federal government. Therefore the credit union's building would not be a Federal Facility. Am I ...

Re: CHL Class Test Question
It's entirely possible she could be remembering incorrectly. Is the test itself standardized? I probably should know that. The more I think about it the more that question seems familiar to me. My renewal is coming up soon so I guess I'll see.

CHL Class Test Question
A friend of mine attended a CHL class this past weekend and I'm slightly concerned with a question on the written test. The question in question was the following (it might be slightly paraphrased): Whether carrying or not, if being pulled over you must: a) when requested by officer show both IDs b)...

Has anyone been able to confirm this story? It seems that it only comes from a single source.

The ESC's are in the gray area of what constitutes a school. Students do visit the ESC's for testing and other services, but they are not regularly there. Much like students visit the zoos around the state, but a zoo isn't a school. ESC's are governed by TEA, but they are a support structure for sc...

Re: People who really need more training
By law, Texas CHL instructors have a certain amount of information that they are required to teach in a certain amount of time. The class requires about 11 hours of your time and around $125 of your money. This doesn't include the $140 fee for issuing your CHL. How many of you would like to be requ...

Then there is my friend who works at a federal credit union corporate office and believes that guns are prohibited from her building because it's a "federal" building.

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
As far as I understand Region 20 is part of the regional education system and should be considered part of the Texas government. Do they get government tax money? I should know the answer to that question but I don't. Here is what I found off the web site: "Funding Because we are a public agen...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?
In San Antonio, the Education Service Center Region 20 has 30.06 signs at most if not all the entrance doors. The signs are white vinyl lettering on tinted glass. As far as I know students never visit the service center. At best only instructors go there. As far as I understand Region 20 is part of ...

Just curious how you guy would like someone walking by your desk at work and making some random jerkish comment about your competence. Nosey jerk, looking for trouble... well he found some. I'll prefer to assume the police didn't lie on the report. it's certainly possible they did, but one would gu...

Re: Collapsible Baton-Legal to Carry in Texas
Let's see, I can carry a firearm which can inflict a lot more damage than a baton, billy club, etc. Why not a baton? During Reconstruction, there was a lot of mob violence in Texas. In an attempt to quell it, the Legislature made it an offense to carry a handgun, "illegal" knife, or club,...
