Make sure it's loaded unless someone who is not trained or otherwise not suppose to gain access to your firearm.
An unloaded gun is very unsafe.

Re: Post Office Law Suit to Repeal Carry Rule
My local Ace Hardware has a staffed contract Post Office. The store itself is not 30.06 posted, and there was no signage at the contract Post Office window. These contract offices might be a good workaround assuming they can handle the services needed. Not entering 100,000 presorted & barcoded ...

Re: New RIP Ammo
I know I wouldn't want to be the first CHL'er to have to answer to a prosecutor as to why I had my mags full of RIP Ammo. Are you flipping kidding me? RIP Ammo... Aside from the fact it's a very light bullet, and dunno how reliable it'll run...especially with newer glocks that have beefed up recoil ...

Re: TactiPac Fusion Review
Very comfy holster... It is not the magic anti printing device that I thought it was going to be, but I am a slender guy carrying a full size and pro M&P with the holster.

Re: TactiPac Fusion Review
Guess I'll update this now. I wear the holster every day now. I really like how easy it is to get on and off and that it's independent of what I'm wearing. It has no retention at all, but that's not a problem for me, because my belt holds it in place. I found some extended mags for my Sig, so I'm n...

You can't really carry anywhere in Chicago under their "No Carry Zones" provision. Pretty flippin stupid IMO.
Useless piece of paper. I'd just stick to an FOID card and leave it in the house.

Re: Crime stats: Summarized
If you appropriately weigh these figures based on crimes per high concentrated metro area(250k & up), the factor is likely much higher than 3.5.Beiruty wrote:This is is more than 1 yr old. We love to see the 2014 version.
Take that Mr. Morgan UK is has 3.5X more violent crimes than US.

Crime stats: Summarized
This video is very interesting. It breaks down the understanding of the numbers behind the crimes in relation to their MSA's(metropolitan statistical areas) and how we are much better off than the UK when you look at the concentration of all violent crime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooa98FHuaU0...

Re: Paying for Parking
Thanks CHL! I'll probably implement some type of safe word for those situations. I just need to figure out how to explain that situation without letting people know that I carry.

There are anywhere from 25-50 semi trailers in the back of bulk mail units and I bet most of those guys are packing guns as they are hauling freight long distances.

Re: $5,000 to Blow
A gas piston AR 15 with some cool glass and maybe a laser. I only have $5000 to spend, so that kinda sucks. Well, you say $5000 "to blow". I would think through what it would cost me to blow it. For example, a 28 year-old could blow it on various gun purchases. Or, he could put that $5000 ...

Re: Always carry spare mag?
I usually carry an extra mag with Hornady defense and Remington 147 grain(ball ammo). If I'm going to be at my shop for a while, I'll put 4 or 5 mags of the variety in my computer bag.

Re: Paying for Parking
Good job in keeping tabs on what was happening around you. The only thing I would have done different (as I understand the presented situation) is I wouldn't have left my wife or friends within easy reach of the guy. I would have had everybody go back to the car with me. Yes. I agree. I realize tha...
