jweaver, If you're at 130+ days then it seems to me that you have 50- days to go. They have 90 days to process your application unless the CHL specialist makes a request for information. It's at that point they can take an additional 90 days.

Updated when I checked today to mailed. Haven't check it since I got the paper work from them on the 28th so don't know when it updated. But wow that was way faster than I expected. Now maybe I'll get it this weekend. Looking forward to trying out all the different pistols I've got to see which one will be carried the most

Well I'm about 130+ days in so now I'll be looking at close to a year. I'm glad I'm allowed to keep protection in my truck until then at least.

Alright, I kind of got a new up date yesterday. My background check has been delayed do to non full disclosure of a possibly disqualifying conviction. I'm kind of upset about that one. Dps requested court documents stating the level of the and the final out come of the charge. I was arrested in Ellis county for a DUI minor class c misdameanor in 2010 at the age of 18. I got the documents stating I was given deferred and that I completed my probation.

I have two questions if anyone can help

Will this be a disqualifying charge or conviction?

I could have sworn that during the apication process it asked to list convictions from class b to felony levels. Does anyone else remember it that away?

Thanks. I'm hoping so too. Maybe tomorrow after the three day weekend. My conceal carry firearm has changed three times since I have applied. And I can't even conceal carry. The irony.

I think mine and ladylightning both got the update to waiting on background check on the same day. Not sure if she knows but I'm secretly hoping I win this race and I have my hopes up for an update when the website comes back up.

Anyone been keeping up with how long it takes after the first status update? Was always worried bout the update and haven't been keeping up with the rest.

Since I got my update today I figured I give y'all some more good news. I mailed in for a lost truck title Saturday and got it in yesterday. So I guess not all of the Texas dps is struggling.

89 days since I put it in the mail box and I just got my first update.
It's weird how it's updated at 9 am. I've been checking every morning and every afternoon. I knew it was for a good reason.

I've heard others say they would rush them through if you called maybe. Didn't sound like they even wanted to talk to any body.
