Thanks guys. Since seeing it I've read every review I could find and they are mostly positive. One even thought the outside extractor was a plus and an improvement over the internal. The looks of the extractor don't bother me any. So if they still have it next weekend, I may have myself my first 1911.

Smith&Wesson 1911 Stainless Steel - Good Price?
I saw one yesterday used for $589. It had some holster wear but other than that seemed tight with a very smooth and light trigger. Barrel looked spotless also. All the safety mechanisms seemed to be working as they should. I been wanting a 1911 style pistol but I'm not sure yet about what is a good deal and what isn't. Does this sound like a fair price to you guys? It was the model with synthetic grips and Novak lo-mount sights. Thanks for any input.
