Red Flag laws also have the "extremely important" benefit of allowing politicians to demonstrate to snowflakes that they are actually doing something about gun violence. After all, all the gun laws (and then some) that might actually stop criminals are already in place, and have been for decades. The politicians have to do something to placate the snowflakes. The fact that new laws don't work is irrelevant. As is usually the case, this is just political theater, or per Shakespeare, "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing".
