And I know of quite a few doctors, nurses and staff that keep one in their bags. I know of one doctor who is fairly critical where he works because of his practice area and it is well known that he carries in his bag, but they don't seem to "know" he carries (a sort of don't ask, don't tell). But he tells a story of once having been shot at by a BG in ER when someone missed the gun, and he's carried ever since. Not in TX, so the laws are very different about posting and effective notice.howdy wrote:I once knew a guy in a similar situation that carried a Kel Tec Sub 2000 in a briefcase.

Re: 30.06 in clinics
Good point but I had been wondering if in this large clinic, does the OP work for a clinic IN the building and the clinic is simply a tenant there, or is the entire building leased by the clinic, or does the clinic own the building? And the partner line of questioning is whether or not the OP or any employee has been given notice that they also cannot carry as an employee and if so what that form of notice was?mojo84 wrote:Teamless wrote:Also, not to quibble, is the sign fully compliant with the law?
are the letters 'BLOCK"
Are they 1 inch
Is the word for word to the letter of the law
English and Spanish
If it does not meet the criteria, it does not meet the law and thus invalid
If you find it is indeed invalid, then DONT TELL anyone or they may make if valid!
Keep in mind there are two issues, legal and employment. Even if the sign is not technically compliant, the OP can still be fired if found out.
Note that I'm not suggesting ignoring a proper 30.06 notification, just pondering the what if in the event the building is not actually properly posted.

Re: 30.06 in clinics
And identifying the location so that it can be added to the 30.06 locations would probably be a good idea.
