DAY 79

I'm still going to speak to my Representative because it took nearly twice as long as the law allows.
Good luck to all.

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
Sadly, My understanding of the statute is the same. 180 days is afforded now that it was an incomplete application. Not sure if there is a way to expedite the process. Maybe a call to your Rep to see if they can do something. I personally think the 6 month clause is bogus and I would have battled to keep it out of the statte. Good luckMrMcCullster wrote:Hey guys,
Newbie here. I posted this in the "Waiting Room" thread, but figured I should also post it here just in case.
Texas DPS Online Application - 5/25/16
IdentoGo Fingerprinting - 5/27/16
LTC Class and Range Qualification - 6/4/16
Supporting Documents Submitted Online and E-mail Confirmation - 6/6/2016
Resubmission of updated CHL-100 Form Online and E-mail Confirmation - 6/20/16
Status Change - ??????
Plastic In Hand - Maybe Christmas (haha) ??????
I started the 60 day clock after 6/6, but received a letter on 6/17 (two weeks time from submission) from DPS saying that my CHL form was incomplete.
The reasoning they gave in the letter was quoted:
"The application you submitted had an incomplete or missing Certificate of Training Form (CHL-100)."
The issue with the form is that my instructor used an Adobe PDF reader to Sign and Fill the text field in the range qualification section to mass produce these forms, but did not do the same thing to in the upper classroom portion. His signature is exactly the same in both sections, but with the printed information not being there, they denied it.
A little work in Adobe Reader to Sign and Fill on the CHL-100 form and I resubmitted to Texas DPS.
So, if I'm understanding this correctly, according to the TX DPS FAQ, since they requested more information, they now can slow roll my LTC and have 180 days to issue my license.

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
The statute says by the 45th and 60th day not business days but the state employees will tell you "business days" and that its "just an estimate.". (Really said that to me) I'm pretty sure they will do whatever they want in whatever timeframe they choose. It IS Austin after all. Good luck.Cope3081 wrote:For those who have posted timelines and have plastic in hand, congratulations! My question is, are the timelines measured in business days or calendar days?
Mine, all docs in and confirmed 18--June-2016
First time, not renewal.
Thank you in advance.

Looks like you are good to go (Unless you applied as a Veteran as your DD-214 would need to be sent) Good luck!hbar21 wrote:Fair enough. Class 6/18
Application 6/20 (didn't realize I could have done this ahead of taking the class)
Fingerprints 6/22
CHL-100 submitted online 6/23
Confirmation email 6/23
And now we wait. Wife has everything submitted same as above, but will do prints on 6/24. Will be interested to see the difference in wait times.
Completed & signed CHL-100 ==> e-submitted (recieved confirmation)
Fingerprints done at IdentoGO, they submit.
Application completed online (received confirmation)

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
I've spoken with them several times and have heard every excuse. They even told me that the 45 business days for a renewal is just an estimate... they are very busy. I am in contact with my rep but seem to be getting ignored on that front as well. I'm not sure how some first timers have received their plastic in just over 3 weeks and my renewal is at 75 days. We shall see. I hope I don't need to be the "squeaky wheel" but my Constitutionally guaranteed right is going to get some grease and soon.OkieBrian wrote:I haven't looked at the statue but when you talk to them they will definitely say "business" days. Have you called them to remind them they are beyond the statutory limit? Since I'm not a resident anymore I don't have any state rep to call for help. I do have a friend that her dad is a state rep and I plan on asking her for help if I go beyond 45 days.USAFTS wrote:I cannot find anywhere in the renewal statute that specifies 45 "business days". I just spoke with the state office and was told that my permit was flagged for delivery and should go out tomorrow (on day 73). I should allow "2 weeks for delivery". SMH
There has yet to be a change of status on the website.
