The students are told it's a break and they are allowed to leave or to stay and listen. IIRC, DPS laid down the law in my instructor class in 2013 that only DPS approved guest speakers could speak during the allotted class time, and then I inferred that DPS wasn't wanting any guest speakers any more. The instructor is to instruct, not bring in any other speakers.

Most of the stories I've heard involving a good shoot by CHL the CHL was not arrested. There is a reason they don't allow TX Law Shield to speak in classes anymore...they are trying to sell something. Not saying it's a bad service, but they are there to push their product.
