Re: Love Field 30.05 Signage???
That's the one... Good to know it means what I thought it meant, especially since I didn't disarm.

Love Field 30.05 Signage???
Just got back from picking up my sister and brother-in-law from Love Field... There was signage on the door stating that I under section 30.05 (not a typo) of the penal code that it was illegal to bring a firearm into the building, whether licensed or not... I looked it up and 30.05 deals with crimi...

Silly question...
I'm sure I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd save myself a trip downtown just to check... Anyone know if the main Baylor hospital downtown Dallas is 30.06 posted? The Baylor building in Mesquite isn't, and I regularly carry at the pediatrician, wife's OB, and the dentist. I didn't carry whe...

The mailman just brought me a present from Austin!
In the immortal words of Ric Flair:

74 Days from when they got the app until it was in my grubby little hand... not too bad.

Re: State Fair Report
As someone still waiting to get his CHL... I was actually extremely annoyed that I couldn't bring my little ole pocket knife with me (which is a tool-type knife... not a KBAR or other clearly defensive type knife-not that it should matter!), but I knew CHLer's could bring in a firearm. I told the gu...

Re: New Ayoob on "Concealed Carry"
I remember that video and it made a lot of sense to me... basically cops will take ANYTHING you say - no matter how innocent - and use it in a case against you. On the other side of things, you have an inalienable right, guaranteed by our constitution to not say anything that might incriminate you.....

Re: Poll: Reasons you have not gotten a CHL?
I have applied for mine now (which will hopefully arrive any day now)... but I didn't for the first two years living here because of money. Well... I was okay with the money, but the wife thought it was a waste and didn't want anything to do with me when I had a gun out, let alone if I carried one. ...

Re: Got the Okay to Carry at Work
The posts about security regulations are interesting... I'll have to see what good ole Brad knows about that. As for his comments and the patting down... Well, he's a pretty good friend and a bit of a cut up. I'm sure he was being sarcastic when he talked about being tackled, and him putting his arm...

Got the Okay to Carry at Work
So when I first came to these forums I posted that I couldn't carry at work because I work at a church... well, you guys set me straight on what the law says and that was cool... but I still wasn't sure what the HR department would think. Since that time I wasted a lot of time not getting my CHL... ...

Re: Application Question - Criminal Record
So you're saying I should get them a certified copy of it? It ought to be fun to get that from Cook County, Ilinois...
I get what you're saying - even if it's not necessary, if it helps speed things up, then it's probably worth the effort.
Thanks!

Application Question - Criminal Record
I just want to start off by saying that this involves a falsified police report and dropped charges, all while defending my wife's honor... honestly, I am a good guy. So I'm taking my CHL class Saturday and I know I'm going to have to report any and all arrests, regardless of how long ago and ...

??? I'm not quite sure I get the point of your reply... someone asked about the size of my church and I gave the information... I also explained that I re-checked the company policy and nothing is mentioned about firearms... so not only is your post bordering on insulting, it's kind of pointless. ya...

Not to mention Dennis Miller (the comedian) is a conservative and I'm pretty sure is pro-gun. So, all of Europe has stricter gun laws?? Yup, Switzerland certainly does since it's mandated that men of age join the military and remain as reservists for a set period of time, during which they must keep...
