Re: Walkout at UT this Thursday

Those that have a holster...Should wear it like they did when "Students for Campus Carry" all got started... April 16th should be a day when both sides of the campus carry issue come together to remember those who died. Douva can correct me if I am wrong, but SCCC specifically DOES NOT ho...

Re: Walkout at UT this Thursday

However, I think the tradition of asking the father for permission to marry his daughter shows respect, courtesy, manners and good breeding on your part. Nah. I'll bet you a dollar he's the product of a good environment. I agree, and in a conversation we just had, he demonstrates patience... Since ...

Re: Walkout at UT this Thursday

I'm not a student there, so I won't take part in an "empty holster" protest. I prefer to see what kind of "peaceful" protest that college students give at the capitol, and I'd like to peacefully carry. My sister-in-law is not violent in any way, but I've heard that college studen...

Walkout at UT this Thursday

During an family lunch on Saturday, my sister-in-law told us that she was taking part in her first protest. The protest is a walkout at UT because of some legislature to allow carrying on college campuses. She expressed great concern over the thought of people bringing guns on campus. I can't recall...

Re: CHL in Church?

I wore my Kimber UCII on stage yesterday morning through both services, no problem. However, I did do my own Aviom setup so as not to be outed. I run sound at my church, one of the larger ones in Austin. Our front-of-house booth is in the balcony, so I know that I would probably not be a target or ...

Re: Utah CFP Class -- Austin

Oh man, I REALLY wanted to be there. I'm so sorry that I couldn't make it! My wife and I have been having troubles with our son, and it just didn't work out. It was a very hard decision, believe me! I wanted to meet some of the fellas in Austin, and I've needed to get licensed in Utah for my trips t...

Interstate transfers in person

So I bought some guns (AR and two pistols) from a friend in Ohio, and my brother picked them up and has them. Now I gotta get the guns to Texas. We were planning on shipping them to TX. My brother was gonna have an FFL in Ohio ship to an FFL in Texas, where I pick them up. The plan should have worke...

Re: Utah CFP Class in Austin Area

Definitely interested; I have family in Ohio. Too bad the turn-around is too slow for my trip at the end of this month.

Bad for me: Wednesday and Thursday nights, Sunday mornings, and between 28 June and 13 July. Otherwise, I think that I can work my schedule around.

Re: Snag this deal?

But, the MAIN thing is....."A friend of my brother's" or a "friend of a friend or...... an uncle of a used to be friend", etc......... could lead to stolen or otherwise illegal guns. Be careful in that regard. Actually, this is not an uncertain thing, but thanks for the warning....

Snag this deal?

A friend of my brother's is offering three guns for $1000. The first is a Rock River Arms entry tactical, with aluminum free-floating rail handguard, Hogue grip, winter trigger guard: http://www.skate360.org/DSCN7159.jpg http://rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=...

Shooting while pregnant?

My lovely wife of 2+ months recently found out she is pregnant. At this point in the pregnancy (less than a month), is it safe to go shooting with her? I'd like to take her to the local outdoor range tomorrow night.

Re: How not to fly -- but maybe get on TV

I would have told the news crew about the real gun just to see their reaction. not a good idea. once the footage is in the camera, you have no control over what does and does not get on the air. Darn straight. That would be saying, "I have a gun!" to everyone watching. I'm already nervous...

How not to fly -- but maybe get on TV

I wondered how long it would be before I posted on the "Never Again" forum... My lovely wife and I just flew back from our honeymoon in the Denver area. I was glad to have reciprocity there for my TX CHL. Frontier Airlines handled my checked XD just fine for the flights to and from Austin....

Re: Wedding Carry... what to do?

Why are you so concerned about carrying on your wedding day? Are you worried that some ex-boyfriends or some of your ex-girlfriends might show up? Nope. Not concerned at all. But because my fiancee finds me with a gun to be hot, even to the point of subconsciously clicking my XD's grip safety, I fi...
