Nothing is actually required.

If it will make you feel better, you can ask for the person's drivers license and or CHL and write down the numbers off it.

Only real problem is if you sell to someone you know is a Felon or otherwise not eligible to own a handgun. If the buyer is a CHL there is a pretty good chance that he/she is eligible to purchase a handgun (at least they were when they received their CHL).
