I'd like to add that we have the luxury of discussing and considering this in hindsight without anyone trying to break down our door while it's going on, and not at 4 in the morning after being startled out of bed. Now, while I'm normal and calm, I clearly believe that I wouldn't shoot through a doo...

He was "kicking in" the door, that is not banging on the door. I would have fired under the same circumstances. I understand. I wouldn't... I wouldn't shoot THROUGH a door to stop someone unless they were trying to shoot me. And bear in mind, he didn't shoot at the guy... he thought he wa...

The problem with shooting at a target you can't see or firing a warning shot is that the bullet doesn't just magically disappear if it doesn't hit someone. That bullet my go into the neighbor's house across the street or alley and kill or injure someone. Don't shoot a target you haven't identified. ...

I didn't know the guy, but I do know several people who did know the deceased rather well. For any of you that listen to Sports Radio 1310 in Dallas, he was the roommate (and bandmate) of the producer of the Hardline, Danny Balis. From the hearsay that I've heard his behavior was way out of characte...

So's Great Britain. There is no guarantee of free speech there either. They can censor the press whenever they like if they feel it's necessary.

Great Britain's also anti-handgun.

Does that mean we hate them?

To many countries guns DO fall in to the "that same sort of crud". And Google doesn't want to just be America's search engine, but the entire world. I'll be honest... I'm all for supporting 2A rights... and also Texas CHL rights. But I love me some google... I don't think I would switch ev...

Having never been in an emergency situation with my firearm... I can't REALLY say I'd acquire my target faster than using the sights. But I'm speculating I would.

I can certainly do it much faster when I practice trying to get an accurate shot off as fast as possible from a resting position.

Why is it socially acceptable to turn your brain off? That's what getting drunk does. This poor kid in the name of "having fun" got drunk enough to not know where he lived. I'll never understand everyone's fascination with making their brains not work and then being sick the next day. If a...

I think it's probably a bad idea to have a bar at a gun club. Guns and alcohol do not mix. The safest shooting ranges in the world are in Switzerland, and they always have bars. They don't even limit the consumption to afterwards, either... they have a long history of having a glass of wine before ...

Typical knee-jerk reactionary website and organization... I have to wonder if our friends up in Dallas this next weekend would like to counter that "demonstration" with some facts... I sure wouldn't let them have a total monopoly on the coverage that "protest" might get... I was...

EDIT:

I was just repeating what everyone already knows. To each their own. I totally understand your thinking. I just think of things in terms of what I can't predict.

Hopefully none of us will ever NEED our guns. :)
