I am curious...why not? Is this a "covert strategy," i.e. you don't want people to know you have one, so you personally don't consider it as an option, or do you not think it meets some objective definition of "ID?" The two have more identifying data elements in common than they do differences. I would not use my CHL as a first choice ID, but I wouldn't be afraid to use it as an ID.jimlongley wrote:No, because I don't consider it 'ID'.

Seems like I did use it for something else other than buying a gun, but I can't remember the circumstance now.
While I was working as an elections clerk during early voting, one guy game in and ID'd himself to me for voting purposes with a CHL. I of course didn't bat an eye and checked him in.
