This is a common experience. But when you start out and don't know what works and what doesn't, it's tough shell out $80 or $100 for a high quality holster just to find out it doesn't cut the mustard. And I have done that too. Hence, the "holster drawer."

It has been awhile since I spent much time on that forum, so don't know how current the posts are, but you can search on HBE or Holsters By Eric and probably come up with some. I recall lots of good comments about quality. He hit a patch where he got pretty far behind (I think not uncommon for one-man shop), and some people were not too happy with that, but that has been at least a couple years ago.
