Be careful in reading any proposition. "No" does not always mean "no" (as in no to taxes). My county has a proposition to rescind the dog tax, but I can tell that people seeing the proposition for the first time (i.e. did not know it was on the ballot) are often confused by the wording and vote "no" thinking they are voting against a dog tax, when infact they just voted "no" to rescinding it -- ie. they just voted to KEEP the dog tax. As an election worker I am not supposed to explain it to them or influence their vote in anyway when they ask me what it means, but sure is hard to stand there and watch this happen. :totap:

DON'T GIVE UP!!

If you moved from one part of the county to another (in the same county), you can still vote for all the races in your previous precinct, since that is where you were registered on Oct 4th. Your county may be different, but in mine, any early voting location can handle voters from any precinct.

If you moved from one Texas county to another Texas county, you will not be able to vote in any precinct or county level offices, BUT -- you can vote for the state and national level offices like Governor. This is called a "limited ballot."

If you moved to here from out of state -- I dunno. But DO NOT GIVE UP YET. Go to your local elections office and find out what you can do.

You can read more on this here: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/pa ... pamp.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have been working at out Elections Office all week as a clerk. We have handled a number of cases like yours. As long as you were registered somewhere in Texas prior to Oct 4th, you can vote at least some of the races.

We have been pretty busy overall with early voting.
