Re: Texas Home Electric Providers
That's great for you guys in town. For us out in the country, many of us are on electric co-ops. No options there. You get co-op power at co-op rates, like it or not. Including monthly fees and the cost of the power itself, mine runs around 15 cents per kwh, flat rate, day or night, weekend or weekd...

Re: auto insurance rate hikes
Funny you should mention that. My home and auto policies were up for renewal on March 1. Both policies with the same company, both renewing at the same time. House premium went up 51%. Auto premium went up 33%. Yes, really! No claims on either in many years, no changes in vehicles, only my wife and ...

Hmmm...
Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to have dumped all those boxes out into those metal ammo cans a few weeks ago after all...

Will You Still Visit Colorado?
Ok, this may be a bit premature, but it sounds like Colorado is about to pass a law that repeals their state firearms preemption law. That would mean that any local government in Colorado (city, county, even special districts) could pass their own local laws that could restrict firearms (or firearm ...

Can We Count on ACB?
Amy Coney Barret has been touted as a 2A-friendly jurist. And she very well may be. However, this brief news report concerning a recent non-2A related SCOTUS ruling gives me some pause as to her level of support of our most basic of enumerated rights. Excerpts from Fox News article. Bolded emphasis ...

Re: If you started over carrying a firearm
Interesting topic... What would you say about a guy who was perfectly happy with his carry rig now, but who says he might very well have done something different if he started over? I've carried several different guns over the years. Mostly just sort of what I had on-hand at the time. I will a...

PLCAA Ruled Unconstitutional
The federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) was ruled unconstitutional by a Pennsylvania appeals court yesterday. The PLCAA is the federal law that prevents civil lawsuits from being brought against gun manufacturers in an attempt to hold those manufacturers responsible when guns a...

Re: Everytown Files Lawsuit Over Texas 30.06/30.07 signs for being "burdensome"
In this short thread, there have already been a number of simple, clear, logical rebuttals to the "reasoning" behind this lawsuit. Unfortunately, simplicity, clarity, and well reasoned logic seem to have very little to do with anything quite often these days, whether between individuals, o...

Re: anyone still carry a 1911?
Yes. That is, if you count a baby 1911, then I do. Colt Defender Lightweight (officer size, aluminum frame), plus one extra mag. I just prefer the .45 ACP over the 9mm. And the officer frame 1911 carries and conceals very nicely for me. Very comfortable and perfectly happy with my little baby boy, b...

This very limited background info on the Oliver v. United States SCOTUS decision referenced in the article above found on Wikipedia: Acting upon a tip that defendant was growing marijuana on his property, two Kentucky State Police officers drove onto defendant's land, past his house, up to a gate wh...
