Re: Open Carry Belt Holster...

IWB or OWB holster should be both by definition called belt holster, as the hoster would not be functional when the loop/paddle are not secured in place by said belt. Otherwise, when the actor draws his pistol it might come out of its concealment still in the holster. There in no need to define &qu...

Re: Open Carry Belt Holster...

Well, now I guess my next step is to get me some string... :) Really though, I appreciate that answer, and it really sounds like I thought it might be, it might be right, or then again... I know about how the cops 'could' react, I've met the good and the bad, that is always a possibility on any sub...

Open Carry Belt Holster...

At TxDPS, they have this... "Unconcealed handguns, loaded or unloaded, must be carried in a shoulder or belt holster ." http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/chl/legal/newlegislation.htm Is an inside the waistband holster considered a "belt holster" in this particular case? I don't p...

Re: Smart Carry-Deep Conceal

Thanks for posting that, I have not heard of them before, it appears I didn't search as well as I thought I did when I was recently looking for a nice holster.
I'm going to keep them in mind, it looks like a good choice to me. :)

Thanks again!

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Texas is weird that way some times. My ex-wife got drafted when she was a 13 year old girl living in El Paso. She received several threatening letters from the selective service bureau for having failed to show up, which her father answered by mail, telling them that they were trying to draft a 13 ...

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Don't take the certificate's word for it. My best buddy growing up was discovered to be "female" on his birth certificate, when he was processing for NROTC in college. Somehow, through ~18 years of school, Little League, draft registrations, whatever, that detail had been overlooked...

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Wow, you really went through a lot. It says a lot about you that you kept at it even when you were discouraged. Hopefully other good guys like you will be encouraged to keep up the good fight. The DPS did the right thing, just took them awhile... You'd think that the courthouses should know exactly...

Thank you, AND, thanks to ALL of you that helped me figure this out, I honestly could not have done this without the help that I received. :)

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Well, the last of the updates, I am glad to say! I received my card yesterday , so now it's all a done deal, for sure. That means that 'this time' I got a letter from DPS it contained what I needed, AND, this only took 9 working days from the time I sent the information to them, if not 8....

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

It's pretty much a done deal, I think. (See my last post) I have already sent the required letters to the appropriate place, so now it's a waiting game. :) In my denial letter, they stated that I have a certain amount of time to get it all squared away, but, after I called the Department of Public ...

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Just a quick update on this, in case it helps someone in the future... I just called the Dallas County District Clerk's Office and asked about why they didn't include any misdemeanor before 1975, I was told that all of the records were destroyed and that it starts from that point on. To me, that is...

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Today I actually (finally!) went to the County Clerk's building to get what I needed, and I have to say, I hope that nobody has to go through all of this crap very often, it is a real ordeal. I called ahead and asked directions, once I was inside, I got to the Misdemeanor window pretty quick. I was...

Re: I was a bad kid... :)

Thank you for that, Crossfire, that gives me the confidence that I may see a light at the end of this tunnel. :) Really, it'd be nice if someone could make this information, along with other information that would apply in a Sticky, I know some of it is, but that's where I looked for the contact in...
