Re: Who Carries A Snub Nose Revolver
I often carry an SP101, generally in a Galco belt slide. Have carried it with a Clipdraw in the appendix position when I want to go super trim. One speed strip for spare ammo.

Thanks for the review. I'm going to start looking for a 19, too.

Re: New to Texas = Legal Question
Thank you. This is what I had concluded based on my preliminary research. It's the law that one doesn't know about that can prove problematic!

New to Texas = Legal Question
Back in PA, all handgun transfers--including local sales between private parties--had to go through an FFL. That PA state law precluded shipping a handgun directly to another PA resident. I know that TX does NOT require an FFL in private party transactions. So is there a TX STATE law precluding ship...

Re: Kids and guns
Been a while; my youngest is 20. But we introduced our kids to guns early. Ayoob has a short book called "Gun-Proof your Children" that I read years ago. I started my oldest son with a toy shotgun (it shot darts); with that he learned the four rules, and I made him put the darts away separ...

Re: Pump-actions vs Lever-Actions
I may forego a lever- or pump-action chambered for a pistol cartridge as a short-range defensive rifle , and go with my Mossberg 500 in 20 gauge. I'm going to get an 18 1/2" barrel for it and an extended magazine. With the mag loaded with alternate slug and #3 buckshot rounds it ought to do th...

Re: Budget Bug-Out Bag
LA Police Gear has their 3-day pack on sale right now. http://www.lapolicegear.com/diplomat-3-day-backpack1.html That's what I'd do if price was a concern. Otherwise, I'd go with a 5.11 Rush bag. I use one of the 5.11's as a carry on while traveling. Great interior organizers. But well above your $5...

Re: Pump-actions vs Lever-Actions
:iagree: Not an official "scout" by Cooper's definition, but my go-to hunting rifle for a very long time has been a Remington Model 7 in .308. I dropped it in an H.S. Precision sporter stock and mounted a compact Leupold 2-7X in the standard (rather than forward) position. It is light, han...

Re: Pump-actions vs Lever-Actions
A lot of good info in the replies above. I agree with Annoyed Man that the bolt-action rifle is the best all purpose platform. That said, I like levers and pumps, too. While there is some overlap now, generally speaking the levers work best with pistol cartridges and flat-nosed rifle cartridges like...

Re: My instructor said....
Please, not another caliber war! We are already worn down by the .45 vs 9mm debate! "rlol" Roger that. Bad example. My point is just that in addition to many long-time shooters in the class, there are often complete newbies who could benefit from the experiences and opinions of the...
