Re: April 2015
CHL plastic arrived today, 73 days after submitting application and supporting documents. They moved quickly to expedite my application once I called and learned they had failed to move my supporting docs from the email team to the licensing team. Pays to make a status call. Email confirmation not reliable.

Re: April 2015
Called TDPS to see if my application had been expedited, as TDPS had promised last week to address their delay in my application process. Learned that my application had been "accepted", and so my card was sent for printing, which would take 2 to 3 weeks.

Re: April 2015
Update.
I had a follow up call this afternoon with a TDPS rep, who confirmed that their email receipt team did receive my CHL course certificate, but for some reason (which she could not explain) that doc had not made it down to the licensing team, so my background check was never initiated! My application has just been sitting there, with no notice to me that there was a problem.
My application is now being "expedited" (1-3 business days), but that just gets me to the background check process that should have been done weeks ago. So now I have to wait up to an additional 60 days, depending on how complicated my particular background check is. Not impressed.
Very disappointing to take the steps I took Day One to confirm IN WRITING that TDPS had all the necessary information from me, only to learn at this late date that they dropped the ball. Lesson for other CHL applicants: don't trust TDPS' online communication services (email or doc submission). Call TDPS early and regularly to make sure your application is moving along in a timely manner.

Re: April 2015
Called TDPS early, as recommended (thanks for the tip infoman) and spoke with a TDPS rep. She claimed that they did not have my CHL course certificate. I informed her that I had submitted that doc online, along with the other required items, back on April 3rd, and had received a confirmation email from RSD Customer Relations that they had received my supporting docs, and that they would alert me by mail if they needed any additional docs or information. Never received any such mail from TDPS or any other agency.
The TDPS rep said she would have to check with the email confirmations people in her office, but they would not be available until 9:00 AM. She was very polite and articulate, and took my phone and email information so someone could follow up. Hope springs eternal.
Interested in knowing if anyone else has had this kind of issue lately: TDPS claims they are missing a required doc, but the applicant did not know such doc was missing because TDPS did not notify them of the missing doc.

Re: April 2015
Unable to speak with CHL representative at TDPS to check status of application. Recording notes that a representative is unavailable because of high call volume. Same deal yesterday. No response to my email status request sent yesterday.
