accidental shooting in the woodlands
my daughter just called me. her supervisor accidentally shot himself last night. she did not have much information but aparently he was preparing to hunt this weekend and killed himself (must be doves so a shotgun was most likely involved.) late twenties, married with a new baby.
this is one of those situations to remind people about gun safety rules. i shoot idpa and steel. i don't excell at either one but it ingrains the safety aspects of gun handling which is not an automatic reflex of the occasional gun handler who gets out his/her guns only during hunting season.
remind your hunting friends to be extra viginlant right now; be careful when you get out your shotgun or rifle to prepare for the upcoming season. carelessness destroys people and families. sad to say, many of those guns were put away last year loaded. carelessness kills.
everyone at my daughters work is affected and distraught; imagine the immediate family. if you are a praying person, pray for this family, both immediate and extended and also for all who are preparing for hunting seasons. be aware of those around you who are about to handle guns and give a friendly warning about gun safety.
