Re: An idea for the future
My next votes will be largely decided based on the shenanigans that took place on SB19. I think the clips around SB19, SB11, & HB910 should be required viewing for any civics class in the state. I've learned more about Texas government from those 3 bills then any High School or College governmen...

Re: The thread where we thank Mr. Cotton
I got to add my thanks to that as well. When I first joined this forum I was one of those 20 something's with a CHL living on a college campus and having to choose between storing my firearm in my vehicle (parked in lots where cars were routinely broken into) or leaving it at "Home" 200+ m...

Re: school student pulls trigger on police rifle
Why safety off on an unchambered weapon? Just wondering. Even if followed to the letter, what would prevent someone from chambering a round and firing it? Seems the mistake is allowing a loaded (possibly unchambered) weapon in a public place where kids are present. The Safety can't be on with the h...

Re: Chandlers Gunshop and Shooting Range
Definitely glad to see Mr. Cotton on board and eager to see what plays out on the 7th.
I'll save my opinions of what's transpired so far for after... here's to hoping for a range day on the 9th.

It is not this sign, I've seen that sign before this one is new. When I'm back in Houston, this weekend. I'll try to get a pic of it.
This one is about 8-9" high by about 15" wide. They do have the sign like the one on the gunzone site posted inside, but thats always been there.

New Sign at the Post Office
I did a search and didn't see anything. I had to mail something the other day and noticed a new sign at the post office (Town and Country in Houston). I don't remember the exact wording but it covered carrying concealed or open and on your person or in the car. Also said punishable by a year in jail...

I'm not too familiar with the XD (that’s what it is right?) but it looks ok. If it’s cycling rounds that’s a good sign. Another thing you can do is with it UNLOADED and NO ammo in the mag. Point it at the ceiling and put a pencil down the barrel eraser first so the eraser sits on the firing pi...

Some states wont honor out of state permits for Residents. I don't know if Louisiana is that way or not. But you may not be covered once you get your Louisiana residency. If they allowed people to just get out of state permits then everyone would just get Foridia and New Hampture permits, and not bo...

Between their anti gun policies and the number of scam emails I got pretending to be paypal phishing for info, and paypal's complete lack of action to take any step to counter these phishers. I closed my account a long time ago. From now on it will be Postal Money Order, or nothing, that is of cours...

I just got my first glock (27) two weeks ago. It's also taken me that long to get to a point where a feel comfortable enough to carry it. I still prefer my sig though. Anyway, the only problem I see with carrying a modified Glock would depend on what you did with the trigger. Lighter springs, lighte...

Sounds good but I have to skeptical of anything google. Keep in mind they are a marketing agency more than a search engine now days. Anything they do has the purpose of market research and advertising. While the service might be worth while keep in mind it is by no means private. With that in mind, ...

I was trying to find a thread TX and Chas posted in a few days ago. they explained it there very well. It might be one of these: http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/viewtopic.php?t=124 http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/viewtopic.php?t=2213 Although none deal with Federal Employees.
