SOLD FTF in DFW: S&W 686 snubnose with holster SOLD
Smith & Wesson 686-6 in very good condition. Has some light scratches from regular handling and carrying. This gun has a Wolf gunsprings kit installed, which makes the trigger pull very smooth and light, but may not have enough power to fire ammo with hard primers (e.g. CCI Blazers) reliably. Co...

Re: Buying a gun being a CHL and permanent resident
While I was a permanent resident with a CHL, I always had to provide proof of residense when buying guns. And to be fair to the FFLs, I believe the ATF rules are clear that they really do have to get that proof, even though it makes no sense. I'm a citizen now, happy not having to carry month's wort...

Re: Tiger Valley Carbine Feb 26-27
I will be attending the same class, but will drive down from Terrell on Saturday morning.
Looking forward to it, and I'm glad to see there will be folks from the Forum there.

Re: Just ordered my first C&R rifle
After three years, I had spent so much money I couldn't afford to renew mine. The more you spend the more you save! :biggrinjester: I just renewed my C&R, I wish I had kept track on how many dollars it saved me the first 3 years. Not that much on firearms, but a lot in other related gear from B...

Re: Anyone use Lee auto disk poeder measure?
As everyone else has said, trust the scale over the charts. I was able to get the exact amount of powder I needed by putting a piece of tape inside one of the charge disk holes, made it throw the .1 or .2 grains less that I needed. Others have made a hole just a hair larger by boring it out with a d...

Re: Gonna start reloadin
I see no need to go beyond the twist on your index rod before starting back up. You're right, as long as the turret has indexed to the next station you are good to go. I took the rod out of my press, found that I could load faster without it, since you don't need to go all the way down after the pr...

Re: Hotels near PSC
I'm sure everyone has made their reservations already, but maybe useful information for next year: I and MrsFosforos stayed at the Alvin Holiday Inn Express last year, and it is every bit as nice on the inside as outside. For anyone RVing, the Advanced RV park in Pearland is great. Gated access, poo...

Re: TXCHLFDay 2010 - Who is traveling the farthest?
267 miles for me and MrsFosforos, coming from Terrell. We are actually taking a route that makes it 284 miles since we'll be in our RV and I don't like driving it on small back roads.

Re: Reloading - Primers getting dented
I get quite a bit of similar looking rounds out of my 550B, though not as severe. Little pieces of corn cob media always find their way into the primer cup. I have learned to look for it now. All it takes to get if out of the primer cup is a quick wipe with my fingertip. No matter how long and hard ...

Re: ...about Glocks???
The trigger pull on a Glock pistol can easily be adjusted to 11 lbs by installing a "New York" trigger spring or to 8lbs by installing the 8lb connector. Both parts are original Glock parts. Any Glock armorer can do this for you.
