Re: Handgun Storage in Automobile?
As the OP, I don't know if I learned anything new, but I do thank folks for trying to help. My concern was whether I had any additional legal obligations beyond locking my car (with EDC gun) when having to enter a 30.06 area, e.g., hospital, post office, polling station, etc. The 30.06 places we can...

Handgun Storage in Automobile?
What are TX's LEGAL REQUIREMENTS per subject? I can't find any mention in TX statutes or on this website. I have my CHL. Is locked car adequate? Locked car + locked glove box or console? (I understand this would not deter a thief.) If carrying an auto, can I unload the weapon and carry the ammo AND ...

Re: Anyone using Lee Liqiud Alox Bullet Lube? / Update
Good on ya. Keep the updates coming. I've been looking at my 20-yr old casting gear and wondering about getting back into it. Got spoiled with Oregon LaserCast and Berry's plated bullets but since prices have doubled-tripled Ive had second thoughts. Wife still gives me heck if I pick up a wheel weig...

Re: 45 ACP brass with small primer pockets
Within the past several months I read an article on this issue (sorry, can't remember the source document). The author's experience was the small primer pocket ammo performed the same as large pocket. Think he theorized the large primer's advantage might be for low temp environments. At any rate, yo...

Re: Bersa Thunder 380 CC Slide issue
The recoil spring has two tricks to it when re-installing it around the barrel. 1. The small diameter end goes on first. 2. The bitter end of the spring should be in the 12 o'clock position, i.e. Towards the top of the slide. Hope this helps. I was frustrated the first few times, too, but I'm glad I...

Private Sale of a Handgun
I want to sell one of my handguns to my son (age 33).
Does this mean a trip to an FFL?
Sales tax collected by the FFL?
Thank you.

Recent Charter Arms .44 Special Bulldogs
Does anyone have experience with recent (2004 and later) Bulldogs? Reliability? Durability? Recoil? I'm interested in this revolver for CCW and would probably shoot 500 range rounds / year. Done lots of internet searches and know there are some older great Bulldogs and some older junk Bulldogs. Have...

In years past, I was able to convert an over-sized hallway closet into a small reloading room. Worked great, could lock it from our (then) small children, and it was air conditioned / heated (assisted by a small table fan). The past eight years we lived aboard and cruised our boat. In 2006 we got ba...

Reloads a Legal Liability in Self Defense???
Three hours research here and no joy, so sorry if this beating an old horse ... Assuming a justifiable self-defense shooting, has the victim / shooter increased his civil liability, if any, by using his own reloads vs factory-fresh ammo? (Assume there's some way for law enforcement to determine it's...

MD and NJ
We need to drive from Austin to NJ to visit my mother. I won't be able to carry in MD or NJ. Can anyone tell me how I can legally transport handguns in MD and NJ? I'd assume unloaded, separated from ammunition, and locked in the car's trunk. Many thanks ... not looking forward to the trip or this is...

Oh, oh ... Am I in trouble?
Mailed in my CHL application July 18th; received PIN August 4th. Whenever checking on-line the status of my application, it would read: "Appliction being processed." Today I checked (MANY times), and it reads: "No application or license/certificate active." Nothing has been recei...

Pistol Ranges Around South Austin Area?
We're new to this area ... just south of Austin; just north of Buda on I-35. Have read old posts ... Austin Rifle Club (closed?); Red's Indoor Range.
Are there any other range choices for handguns?
We have two new pistols, 800 rounds of ammo, itchy fingers, and nowhere to shoot.
Thanks.
