Just to clarify, the BF/BFX series is several steps above entry level, as the TF, SF, and NF are all lesser size/security models in their gun safe line. The BF/X series is the sweet spot though for value and protection for the average homeowner. I have a BF6030 that I've been very happy with. 1100 lbs. and very solid. Also have a smaller NF model inside a closet due to space constraints and have been equally pleased, though the finish out on the inside isn't quite as nice. Btw, I see Amsec has changed their “entry” level safes from BF to BFX. Better, more robust door locking system.
One piece of advise - buy bigger than you think you need. Seriously. Bigger. If you go with Amsec and their fireproof safes all of a sudden jewelry and personal papers will be there. And guns never multiply on their own. Seriously, bigger.
I'll also add that the advice to buy bigger is always spot on.
