sorry for getting this twisted into an immigration discussion, it's mean't to be a gun forum,
i'm on a few immigration forums where i discuss this type of thing,
sorry guys,

what i mean't is that we CAN stay up to 6 years without any further immigration hassle,
but have only been here 6 months at present,

let me point out, we have only been here six months,
as i'm here LEGALLY it would be nice to be able to live that way,
as it is, i'm treat like an illegal with very few rights,
we would have no problem with gaining legal resident status/green card/ citizenship but we now no longer feel this is a country we would like to live in,
we thought the USA was gonna be a dream come true, oh how wrong we were,

it's been nice knowing some of you,
we will be flying HOME in the next few months once we tie up all the loose ends here,

oh, and theres a beretta px4 storm for sale for $400 with only 50 rounds thru it,

yep,
you can always try and hit them with your handbag,
even our regular cops don't have guns,
another one got stabbed to death just last week,

our olympic pistol team are not allowed pistols in the UK,
they have to go to another country to practice,

if you want to own a shotgun it is a real pita, you need police clearance, the police come and inspect your property regularly to ensure you have adequate security,

i hope it hits me real hard,
to knock some sense into me for these crazy ideas i keep having,
like moving here for a perfect life,

just received this reply from the Concealed Handgun Licensing Bureau ;


You are not required to have a SSN but when an application is submitted
without a SSN an affidavit will be sent and will need to be completed
and returned for verification of this.
For legal residents born outside of the United States, you are required
to submit a copy of your permanent resident card that has an Alien
registration number; or a US Visa with an I-94 number along with a
current copy of a hunting license.
You must contact the Immigration and Customs Department to see if you
are eligible to possess a firearm.

and reading thru section R, i am not allowed to posses a firearm,

i'm more than happy to abide by all your laws and rules but it seems heavily one sided against us, and we are here legally,
it took over 2 years (luckily my wifes employers kept the position open) and around $7000 to do it legally,
wish i'd just come over illegally, we would have had more rights,

we were thinking of going back home anyway and this may just be the icing on the cake,

just rang them and they said yes, you need a ssn to prove you are a legal resident,
well i am a legal resident but can't have a ssn as i'm not allowed to work,
so, i'm no further forward,
i'm gonna email them now,

hi,
i'm just wondering if you NEED a ssn to obtain a chl,
i'm in the USA legally but i'm not allowed a ssn due to my visa only being an H-4, my wife is here working and i'm a bystander,

i just purchased a beretta px4 storm for in the house but being from the UK we aren't allowed pistols so i thought doing the chl would be good training even if i decided not to carry,

just wondered if a ssn is necessary,
