What hoss4570 said about metal prices - - - building trades that are dependent on copper, electrical, plumbing and, HVAC, are at the mercy of the metals market. Some copper suppliers won't guarantee a price for more than 24 hours so bidding is a real gamble. I saw the price of copper wire jump 20% overnight fortunately, the wholesaler had the wire in stock and honored the lower price.

If you think this is bad, during WWII, the only ammo a civilian could buy was what was on the dealers shelves at the start of the war. Talk about price gouging!!!
