I have noticed a couple sources who have advertised their price for the chl around here and I'm not willing to spend 150+ on a chl class. I don't care if they feed me lunch or take me on a horse ride. I just want to take the class and take my written and practical tests.
Classes generally run $120 and up. The course is mandated by law at no less than 10 hours of instruction.
Also, another consideration is that I'm not a pro shooter yet with handguns. I have always been an long gun guy and have just recently gotten into shooting handguns. The more lenient the instructor is on the shooting practical the better.
There is no difference among the scoring. There is a standardized test. You fire 50 rounds each worth up to 5 points. You must pass with 70%, or a 175 out of a possible 250.
