46.15 and 06/07 postings

I’m currently having a dialogue with Nueces county appraisal district regarding their posting of 06/07 signs at their board meetings. As of Sept 1 46.15 makes the 46.03 (14) non applicable to license holders meaning they can carry inside an open meeting. Their attorney is of the opinion that they ca...

Re: Called out by security at appraisal district.

Nueces County appraisal district has a metal detector. They’ll let you in but the guard has to escort you throughout your whole visit there. Ridiculous. I’m thinking that this year I’ll conduct my business then stop at the John on the way out. Might have a stomach ache too...

San Antonio stock show

New this year are metal detectors at all entrances. I didn’t see any signage however their website says all concealed and open carry is prohibited. So be prepared for them to violate your rights should you try to legally carry there.

Re: Gun Storage programs in Texas?

Just an update, while checking my email I saw Alice Tripp had sent out an email with the subject line of "Balanced and Rhetoric Free" that contained a quote from an email sent by Joe Bartozzi. He is the president of the NSSF and in his email he says: This year, we are happy to announce th...

Re: Texas A&M Campus Carry - Seeking Insight

Why not call the campus or better yet the campus police. They should be able to set you straight on if those areas are prohibited

Re: Trump: Banning Suppressors?

Unlike bumpstocks suppressors are all registered. This fact alone will make the outlaw of them and confiscation and compliance rate very interesting. Perhaps more folks will speak up and put money where needed. Those who have suppressors typically have a higher income than your regular gun owner. Th...

Re: Property taxes

I get the point of the exemption, Tall, but I think the abuse has gotten out of hand...a few goats and a donkey? come on...And the rate needs to be raised to a more reasonable level like 15%, in my opinion. My land is now ag exempt under wildlife. The Ag value for wildlife is whatever it was valued...

Re: Speaker Bonnen's betrayal of Texas gun-owners

I called Bonnens office also. Was asked if I had worked with the bills author to get it out. what the heck can he do to get it out of committee? Told the lady no but bonnen could pressure pancho to pass it out. He has control over it. Gonna call again tomorrow and reiterate the same thing.

Re: Rodeo grounds

I thought Houston had metal detectors and wands at the gates and wouldn’t let you enter the grounds with a firearm. Like I said, the property is owned or leased by a governmental entity, so real peace officers don't enforce 30.06 on the property, but thugs do. This is the first year since 06/07 sig...

Re: Speaker Bonnen's betrayal of Texas gun-owners

I am most interested in SB117 this session. This is the bill that clarifies the school activity law that the Houston, Galveston County, and Brazoria County fair and rodeos have been hiding behind to post illegal 30.06 signs. Over the last couple years I have filed several complaints on these, but s...

Re: Armed citizens moving to defend the border

The real question is are you willing to shoot the mom holding the baby on the front lines with the television cameras rolling? That is how they will stage the crossing, and that is what the job will require. I wager most civilians will stand down and give quarter. Wouldn’t be much different than Ru...
