Re: Red dot optic suggestions
I think eotech has my favorite reticle. Just not the battery life and weight I want it to be at.

At their going rate, I probably wouldn’t buy another one, even though I have no complaints outside of the price. I have a Gen II Primary Arms SLx Advanced Push Button Micro Red Dot Sight mounted on my PC Carbine, and I believe that the quality is definitely there for such an affordable RDS ($149.95 right now), although it’s not quite in the same league as the Aimpoint.cmgee67 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 7:13 pmThanks. I did and I think I am leaning towards the MRO as well. Thanks for the feedback on yours. I like how light that one is compared to the the other two.extremist wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 7:07 pm Op asked about an AR setup.. .
Of the ones you are choosing from my choice would be the Trijicon MRO. I have two I run on my ARs. I also have the Aimpoint Patrol Optic. 2nd in my opinion. I no longer own any EOtechs.
Watch mrgunsandgear reviews of them and take his input also.
Primary Arms has a new one coming out that’s kind of interesting. Although it is a micro, it’s not a true RDS either. Rather, it’s a 1x prism sight with an etched and illuminated ACSS "Cyclops" reticle. Being a prism sight, the eye box and eye relief aren’t quite as forgiving as a traditional RDS is, but it’s not bad either; and you have some built in ranging capabilities with the ACSS reticle.

Price is right around $250, and no, I don’t work for them.
Interesting. I’ve ran primary arms of
Various kinds for a few years. They are all
Pretty decent.

Re: Red dot optic suggestions
If Eotech would add a “shake awake” feature I think that would awesome. That not only helps with battery life because of the auto power off but it also means when you need it you can just pick it up. Of course if you keep it riding in the vehicle then it’s always on due to vibration. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other I suppose.

Red dot optic suggestions
Hello all I am looking to set my AR up with a good optic. I’ve ran some vortex red dots and sig red dots and I am ready to move up to a really good quality red dot or holographic sight. The three I am currently looking at are the Trijicon MRO, AimPoint PRO, and the Eotech exps3. I think the battery life will be better with the mro or the pro over the exps3. However I like the holographic reticle more than a standard red dot. I know all three are proven options but the battery life on the eotech just isn’t up to par with the other two. I want to be able to leave the battery on year round. I intend on changing it out every year. This pretty much rules out the eotech. I know Holosun makes some good options now as well.
