There has been speculation that they were planning something bigger but something went down at the Christmas party so I guess they decided to up the timeline and target the people at the party. Now that was last night when I heard that on FOX so take with alot of salt and for what its worth - but if you think about it, at this point with what we know, it makes a bit of sense.
