I voted for both as I have carried each type depending upon circumstances.
Most carried is my 340PD, in a carry gun light is good!

I have taken to carrying a 3 gun battery as I move around in my truck. My small pocket carry pistol (340PD) A large revolver in 357 and a Marlin 1894 in .357. All use the same ammo.

The Mod 28 fits perfectly between my seat and the center console and is readily available as I enter or exit the truck. A simple hand towel keeps it covered. The Carbine fits under the seat and is available for targets at range. The pocket pistol is available once I am away from the vehicle.

The only SA I feel is reliable enough is my Combat Elite in .45ACP shooting ball ammo. But I prefer the reliability of the revolver over the SA.

I like the ability to use which ever weapon meets the situation best.

Years ago my Father and I were working on his property in East Texas getting it ready for deer season. As the day wore on some local toughs showed up with some girl friends and started having a party just up the hill about 50yds away at our gate. Then they started shooting our gate and at us with pistols. I can still hear them bullets passing by today! We hollered and told them people were back here and to stop shooting. More laughter and shooting ensued. So my Dad took out his 870 riot gun full of 2 3/4" baby #1 buckshot (20 .30 cal pellets per load) and I took out my AR-15 with a 40 rd mag. I sent that 40rds down range plus a 30rd clip as well, he sent 8 shots for good measure. That was 230 bullets down range in 2 minutes or less. We found broken car window glass, tire tracks and a shot up gate but no toughs. My lesson on that day was bring a long gun to a pistol fight if at all possible and respond with overwhelming force when needed.

Take care.

Hank
