Congrats on getting pulled over by rookie cops.

I think the Officer who pulled me over for the drug check was a rookie. However, the other four that showed up weren't........do they need a heads up from their computer that I may have a gun since it should be so obvious? The six one was just so sure he had a DUI and totally forgot protocol. It was kind of funny when the first Officer turned me loose and said "now remember it's 80 not 82."

This is correct. You still have the requirement to display your licensed if asked for ID, but there is no penalty if you fail to do so.

Since reading this forum, I have always given my CHL with a DL. Fortunately, It has only been used at DL, Insurance and DUI check points the last several years. Every Office I have shown it to has been very supportive of my CHL.

If they had your license and your LTC was given to them as required, then they should have asked and known if you were carrying.

Neither stop did they ask me for license or proof of insurance. The stop to check me for drugs they just told me to shut off the truck, throw the keys in the passenger seat, get out and walk to the back of my truck and sit on the tailgate..The DUI he just told me to exit the truck, and then he put me threw the paces. I had been told specifically by my CHL instructor (2009) we were no longer required to show an Officer our CHL license.
