Re: Motor homes

As said, don't wear yourself out prepping for the trip, or setting up to elaborately for a short stay.

Yes sir. Just be sure to drain the black first and then the grey. Then rinse out the hose.
I agree. I also used one of the clear attachment to check if the water from both tanks ran clear. I would take one of the wands you can either make or buy and make sure my black tank was flushed of TP and any residue, I then filled the black tank slightly with chlorinated water and put some of the blue porta potty fluid in the tank to keep it sanitized for next time ( in this heat it would smell if I didn't.). I only showered from my clean water tank, but I would fill it with chlorinated water and drop an iodine tablet in it.

Re: Motor homes

We always cooked over the camp fire. However, the oven came in very handy when cooking casseroles for holiday meals while the house oven cooked the turkey.

Re: Motor homes

Not to be morbid, and you have most likely already though of this , but these things can go up like tender. ( Saw one one time). I always kept 3 5 pound fire extinguishers in my 25 ft. trailer. One in the back bedroom, one in the mid bath and one in the front kitchen. Your new trailer probably came with smoke and carbon monoxide sensors. However, if not, install them. I also always had an exit strategy, even if just included my 12 ga. making a hole big enough for us to crawl through.

Re: Motor homes

I want to reiterate one point that has already been addressed. While carson1 and I may disagree on what engine you might want to haul with. Brakes are the more important factor. Make sure you use a good brake controller, that your brakes are in optimal condition and you leave your self plenty of room for idiots that don't consider your braking distance with a trailer pushing you.

Re: Motor homes

Do not think those metal bars are designed for anti sway. They do give an added benefit of reducing sway. However, they are deigned for weight distribution and without them you loose any weight distribution properties. Anti sway bars are made and sold for that exact application if you feel you need them. I never did.

Re: Motor homes

I don't care where I went, I always had a shotgun and a 1911 with me. I never advertised the fact that I had them and was never checked. I also never took a back woods trail with out a 1911 CC on me. (came in handy with three two legged vermin one time.) I also suggest you lock you hitch to your truck. I had mine stolen in CO one day and could ot find a replacement to save my life. I ended diving from CO to El Paso with a sever v between truck and trailer. Always camped at a "primitive" camp site. Only once did I have to ask a person to shut off their Onan after 10:00 PM.

He doesn't need a diesel to pull this trailer. It's weight is only 2880. That can pulled with a light weight tow vehicle.
Being in construction I have pulled a great variety of weights and trailers with heavy 1/2 tons and 3/4 ton gas engine trucks. I bought a diesel in my last truck. There is nothing like a Cummins under the hood. He takes that trailer into the mountains with any type of grade and he will wish he had the torque of a diesel......been there done that. Diesel will give you better mileage and longivety.

I'm not. People realizing what a huge mistake they made and want out badly.
I'm not either. I bought one for half price. The folks picked it up from the factory, drove to Ft. Bliss and parked it until the tires dry rotted. The husband passed away and the son sold it.
