They wouldn't give me a cerified copy either.

I apologize for confusing the issue. I was thinking of documents filed with the county recorder, such as power of attorney, etc. You can go to the country clerk office in person or order those types of documents by mail and they come with an official embossed stamp. Apparently criminal records are handled by an entirely different department and process.
