I think this would be a very bad idea. That is why they make pepper spray.Toadstone wrote:Aside from drawing a gun on them, punching their lights out, or pepper-spraying the attackers, what do you think about finding a fire extinguisher and letting them have it with that? I'm pretty sure it would distract them.

McDonald's is a franchise, so the store owners may have more discretion on how to handle certain employee issues.philip964 wrote:OK, I was wrong the employee who took the video has been fired. McDonald's doesn't read from the same playbook as Costco.

Actually I had the same thought. An Extra Large Ice Water.sawdust wrote:I say, "de-escalate" the situation by dousing the assailants with a glass of, or bucket of ice water, or hosing them down with a water hose. Anything that breaks them out of their aggressive rage with an unexpected action.

Re: another beating at a McDonalds
I am not sure that this was "savage on savage". It certainly was "two savages on someone".Texas Dan Mosby wrote:There are many in our society that have adopted a culture that has NO self control, NO sense of reason, and will resort to savage and immature behavior to interact with others and solve disputes. These individuals are pretty easy to recognize, and especially so when they encounter each other, based on their behavior alone. I will not intervene in "savage on savage" conflict, as that's not my job, and potentially far more trouble than it's worth.
I am, however, willing to lend a hand when the savages target the rational and law abiding among the population though.

The guy who was recording the beating sounded like he was trying to be a sports announcer narrating a boxing match. Disgusting.paadams wrote:Even the spectators freaked out at the end when she started having seizures. I just hope I'm never put in that situation.
Since I wasn't there, I don't know what I would have done, given the situation, but it looks like any semi-able man or normal-sized teenage boy could have stopped the attack without the benefit of a weapon.
I don't know what part of town she was in, but being it was a McDonald's I might have just been hungry and wanted a cheeseburger.Oldgringo wrote:Secondly, what are you doing in this part of town anyway?
